We have food that has been donated, can we bring it in?
Due to our state catering license we cannot allow any outside food or beverage brought into the resort. Many schools
opt to provide the students with a snack while on the bus to the resort.
How many students do we need to have to hold our event at Double JJ Resort?
We don’t require a particular number of students; we invite schools of all sizes to enjoy Double JJ Resort.

What do we need to do first to secure our date?
We will prepare a letter of agreement which states:
- Date of your event
- Package price per student and chaperone
- What is included in your package
- Minimum number of students
What type of Deposit do you require, and what are the payment options?
To secure your date we require a $1,000 deposit and a signed letter of agreement. 90 days prior to your event we ask for 80% of the estimated balance (less the deposit), and one week prior to your arrival we ask for payment to be made in full.

Do you allow for more than one school at the same time?
We have a rotation schedule, which means if we have two schools in one night we rotate the events and activities accordingly so the different schools will not be in the same building at the same time.

What are the different areas of the resort?
We have three different areas of the resort, allowing for three different ‘Mystery’ locations for the school’s events and activities. Maps of the resort can be found by clicking here.

*Tip: The first school to secure their date is able to lock in their schedule of events. All other schools' itineraries will be determined according to each school's activities & events, as well as their arrival & departure times.
Is each location within walking distance?
The three locations are located along a two mile stretch. We don’t recommend the schools walk to the different areas. The school is responsible for providing transportation to each location, provided their activities/events are in different locations of the resort.

* Rodeo Roper This is a fairly realistic looking horse, which sits on top of a track. When a button is pushed, a calf rolls down and away from the horse. The person sitting atop of the horse tries to rope the calf.

*Suzie Z Performance artist who starts off an event with a large chalk art presentation. The room will then switch to black lights, revealing new designs in the chalk. After her large-scale artwork, Suzie goes into traditional face painting. All of her artwork can be customized for the theme of the party.

*Brandon Styles Great impressionist. For the all-night parties, the students love to see him do his world class strolling magic in various characters. He might start as Austin Powers, then switch to Napoleon Dynamite, & then maybe Ozzy Osbourne. All the while, he is doing magic dressed as those characters, along with great vocal impressions.

*The CINEMATION Thrill Theater This is a 12 seat, 4D, self-contained, motion theater. The throughput is 144 per hour, with each group watching a movie that is approximately five minutes in length. There are different movies available, including Mine Ride, which takes you on an adventure in an old mine, with the rickety and broken tracks. When you go underneath the waterfall, real mist comes down on your head. Leg ticklers and other special effects come into play on this and other adventures as well.

*Alpha 3D Motion Theater Similar to the CINEMATION Thrill Theater. Has a throughput of 144 per hour. Featured rides are the Roller Coaster Ride &the Horse Race, with footage from Churchill Downs. This unit has great motion choreographed with the movie, but does not offer any of the special effects, such as the misters, leg ticklers, etc.

*Movie Makers/Fun Flicks Totally Interactive Videos A top attraction for the all night parties. You can make a short movie or shoot a music video using the green screen process. We start off each show with a time capsule for each school. Each participant gets a copy of the video they make.

*Faces in Fantasy Places Select a body that you want your face to be on, & we'll insert a digital picture of your face. Take home a printed 4" x 6" color photo in a card stock frame.

*Total Recoil Experience virtual reality skeet shooting & carnival shooting, using a replica of a Winchester rifle. We have had great success with this at the Back 40 in the past. Offers several levels of difficulty.

*Dome Theater This unique attractions is a sit down, kick back, & relax type of experience. Depending upon the shows selected, the throughput would be anywhere from 60 to 100+ kids per hour. It offers music programs such as Sonic Vision, a groundbreaking digitally animated music show featuring the music of Moby, U2, &Coldplay, Passport to the Universe, Cosmic Collisions, Force Five, & more.

*Illusionist Tom Tom comes to us with a variety of acts, magic, illusions, and more! He offers a stage show as well as the option of a walk around show for some close up magic.

Can we have more than one activity going on at once?
Yes! We actually encourage having activities running simultaneously. For instance, maybe not every student would be interested in the Waterpark, so during the Waterpark timeframe you could have the Mechanical Bull, Arcade, and a Movie taking place as well.

Can we stay longer in the Waterpark?
It is possible; there are a few different factors that would determine this possibility. However, we don’t recommend extra time in the Waterpark due to advice given from past schools. The students tend to lose interest and are ready to move onto the next activity after two hours of swimming.

What time would our event start and end? How long is the event?
We customize your start and end time according to your schedule. We understand that all schools have different time frames, and are traveling different distances to get to Double JJ Resort. The length of the event can be as long or as short as your group decides. We recommend at least four hours in order for the students to enjoy the activities and not feel rushed. On average, most schools stay about 6-8 hours and have no problem filling that amount of time with a very eventful night of entertainment.

You are more than welcome to bring in outside vendors and entertainment attractions. Just be sure to let us know when and where you plan to have these items during your event. Also, let us know what time/date a company may be delivering an attraction.

Do you provide decorations or can we bring in our own?
We do not provide any decorations. You are more than welcome to bring in your own, however they cannot be put up until the start time for your group in that venue location, and must be removed before the end time for your group in that venue location. We request no confetti or candles be used for decorations.

When do we need to have all our details finalized?
We like to have all the minor details finalized at least 90 days prior to your event. This gives us plenty of time to communicate with our staff. We recommend setting a time to do a final walk through with our activity and food & beverage staff about 30 days prior to your event. This helps ensure everyone is on the same page and all questions are answered.
