When you're not splashing in the Gold Rush Indoor Water Park, taking on the mighty Thoroughbred Golf Course, or in the saddle on a horseback trail ride....you'll have plenty of other things to do!

Corral Show

• Gather around the Back Forty Corral on Tuesday evenings for some real western family fun! Games for both kids and grown-ups that will leave you breathless with laughter, and help wear your kids out for bed! A 90-minute show that is not to be missed.
• Available mid-June - Labor Day

Crafts

• Available year-round at the Gold Rush Indoor Waterpark (adjacent to the Wooden Nickel Arcade). You can paint a t-shirt, create a stuffed animal, make candy art, and more!
• Available May - October at the Little Red Craft Barn in the Back Forty. The same great crafts you can find in the waterpark, with some additional fun art projects like coloring, painting and candle-making.

Cross-Country Skiing & Snow Shoeing

• Explore miles of groomed trails on skis or snow shoes. You can bring your own equipment or rent from us.
• Available in winter, when there's enough snow.

Dog Club

• Learn all about our dog sled teams. You'll love our Siberian and Alaskan Huskies that are housed in our dog yard found at the Back Forty Ranch. Ask a Double JJ Musher about our Pooch Pal Program too!

Dog Sledding / Dog Cart Rides

• In winter, our teams of well-trained snow dogs will take you on a dog sled ride you will never forget! Want to drive the dogs yourself? Mushing lessons are available.
• When there's no snow, wheeled cart rides are available if the outside temperature is cool enough so the dogs do not overheat.
• Available Year Round

Fishing

• If you like to fish, bring your own fishing pole and bait to the Fishin' Hole on Little Wildcat Lake at the Back Forty. (Basic supplies available for purchase at the General Store.)

Games, Sports & Equipment

Back Forty

• Tennis, volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, stilts, tether-ball and a playground are available. Equipment may be checked out at the Town Hall.

The JJ Ranch

• You can visit our putting green or play horseshoes, basketball, softball, tennis, shuffleboard, and volleyball. For equipment, look for the equipment box near each area. You'll find a pool table, ping-pong table, video games, and more at the Silver Dollar Saloon, located on Big Wildcat Lake. JJ Frontier

• Try your skills in the Wooden Nickel Arcade, then redeem your tickets for great prizes in our redemption center! Located in the lobby of the Gold Rush Indoor Waterpark building.
• Available Year Round

Mechanical Bull Riding

• Adults can join us at the Wagon Wheel Bar on Friday nights during rodeo season for mechanical bull riding, followed by a DJ dance. How long can you stay on the bull?
• Available mid-May - mid-September

Outdoor Swimming

• Back Forty Swimmin' Hole: Your family will love our 150' waterslide, activity pool, hot tub, and zero-depth entry pool. Towels are available poolside so no need to take towels from your room.
• Ranch Pool and Spa: Located on The JJ Ranch, this pool & hot tub offer another place for you to bask in the sun. Please call for dates when children can be on The JJ Ranch, or click here for the adult-exclusive calendar. Children must be accompanied by an adult. NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY.

Petting Farm

• Meet our collection of pets: chickens, rabbits, goats, llamas, and more. Fun, furry and feathered. Located at the Back Forty Barn.
• Available Year Round

Pig Roast & Rodeo

• Join us at the Back Forty Town Square on Friday evenings for our Pig Roast with all the fixins'. The roast is followed by the JJ Rodeo, full of buckin' bulls, broncs, ropin', and ridin'! Participate in rodeo games, or watch the antics of our own silly rodeo clowns.
• Available mid-May - mid-September

Snow Tubing

• A 500 ft. run makes for plenty of excitement! Fly down the track on a snow tube and ride the tow rope back to the top. It's all the fun you remember as a kid without the aggravation of climbing back up the hill.
• Children must be at least 42" tall to go on the tubing hill.
• Available mid-December through the beginning of March (weather permitting)

Target Sports

• Archery is available at the Back Forty and the JJ Ranch; the Rifle Range is on The JJ Ranch. Children must be 48" tall to use the rifles, and accompanied by an adult.
