Corral Lessons are 40-minute teaching sessions with the riding staff that allow children to learn the basics of walking, trotting and cantering a horse. Corral lessons are $27.50 per person.
Children who need more instruction than what can be provided in a group setting should consider purchasing private or semi-private lessons.
During this 40 mintue corral lesson, riders will learn basic riding skills at the walk including steering, stopping, walking, & proper riding position. This lesson is designed for riders with no horse experience. Riders will be mounted for 20 minutes of the lesson & will spend 20 minutes learning basic horse knowledge such as parts of the horse and/or parts of the saddle. Riders must demonstrate the ability to comfortably steer, stop, and walk their horse to pass this corral. If a rider passes this corral, they are permitted to ride in the Trail Blazer Corral Lesson.
During this 40 mintue lesson, riders will master basic riding skills at the walk including steering, stopping, walking, & proper riding position. This lesson is designed for riders with very limited, but some, riding experience.
During this 40 minutes corral, riders who have mastered the walk will learn how to trot. This lesson is designed for riders who have some amount of riding experience and are interested in an intermediate level lesson. Riders will learn to comfortably control and steer their horses at the walk & trot, and to sit comfortably at both.
During this 40 minute corral, riders who have mastered the walk & the trot will learn to canter. This lesson is designed for riders who have a significant amount of riding experience & are interested in an advanced level lesson. Riders will learn to comfortably steer their horses at the walk, trot, & canter and sit comfortably at all three gaits.
Private lessons for adults and children are available in English and Western riding skills, as well as other riding skills (jumping, barrels, poles, etc.). Private lessons are priced per person per hour but we do offer discounts when more than one person is participating.
